Los Altos Hills

Welcome to Los Altos Hills

A secluded, entirely residential community that offers luxurious real estate and expansive views

The first residents of Los Altos Hills were the Ohlone Indians and over the years a number of momentous artifacts have been discovered at the village sites that they once inhabited. Los Altos Hills was first constituted from two large Spanish-Mexican land grants in the mid 1800s that were divided into two parcels that would serve as ranches for the Brione and Mesa families for many years. The two ranches were eventually divided into smaller parcels to serve as land for cattle to graze and vineyards, mostly of Zinfandel grapes.

It was around the time that Los Altos Hills was incorporated on January 27, 1956, that the town saw substantial residential growth. The founders articulated a dream of a quiet bucolic community that would function free of any hindrance from the county government and the town sustained such simplicity in its early years. It was during this time that the town began to flourish with apricot, plum and prune orchards. Dubbed the “Valley of Heart’s Delight”, this agricultural nirvana brought visitors from near and far to admire the enchanting vision of the millions of fruit trees that blossomed.

Today, Los Altos Hills serves as an entirely residential town that is free from any commercial obstruction. Some of the world’s most affluent tech executives and venture capitalists reside in this exclusive community. Expansive views of undulating hills and the San Francisco Bay make for breathtaking natural beauty. Specifically engineered with intent of preserving an unprecedented rural aesthetic, residential streets are free of sidewalks and street lamps making for a desirable location for those seeking serenity and seclusion.

To further embody this agrestic disposition the town constructed a “Pathway System”, which consists of 80 miles of trails that connects the community with a passageway for safe non-vehicle travel. Los Altos Hills undeniably embraces an eco-friendly environment for its community. In 2005, Los Altos Hills remodeled their town hall to have solar panels installed and updates of solar monitor information are available to residents every 15 minutes. Custom homes with modern architecture emulate luxury yet offer conscious and sustainable options that align with the community.

A prestigious school system nurtures the intellect of the children offering them a world-class education.
